At the age of 71, Sandra Rokoff-Lizut started her first collection of poems, evolving it to Children of Someone Else’s Longing, which is being released for all to enjoy this month.

This collection transports readers into the dark and light memories of the author’s childhood to adulthood, displaying the concept of uncertainty being the new normal.

“Through both traditionally and experimentally structured poetry, Children of Someone Else’s Longing investigates the sharper edges of relevant cultural issues, interpersonal relationships, family, loss, aging, and transformation in a series of exciting, accessible poems that create an interior landscape out of the markings of the exterior. Seeped in potent imagery, political explorations, personal narrative, and social empathy, Rokoff-Lizut’s collection resounds with authenticity and heart.”

Living in McMinnville, Oregon, Rokoff-Lizut published her collection with Loyola University Maryland’s Apprentice House Press. Children of Someone Else’s Longing is available wherever books are sold, including in our shop.
